The Parish of Berkswich and Mothers' Union are proud to be launching the
Berkswich Giving Tree

buying Christmas presents for Women, Children and Teenagers spending Christmas in Staffordshire Women's Aid refuge.

Trees are available in our three churches -

Holy Trinity, Baswich Lane

St Thomas, Kitlings Lane, Walton on the Hill

All Saints, The Green, Brocton

Later this week, a list of available gift tags will be recorded here (we want to give some people time to take them from the trees first).  If you would be interested in buying one of the gifts, please email Fr Graham to let him know to remove the gift from the list.

FAQs
  • Can I just choose a gift myself and send it to you?
    • We have carefully chosen gifts suitable for the current refuge residents. If you are unable to find the specific gift, you are please try and buy as close a match as possible.

  • I'm not sure what you want me to buy
    • For some of our items, we've been very exact in specifying which gift we need.  For others, we wanted to give you the opportunity to choose what you think would be the perfect gift and be guaranteed able to find something from a local shop.  For example, while we have not specified which model of lego you may wish to buy, we have placed a price cap to give you an idea of the price bracket - you may feel you want to choose lots of little sets from the same set, or you may want to buy one large set.

  • I can't get to the shops but would like to take part
    • No problem!  Just choose a gift tag and leave it with a cash equivalent in the church - we will arrange for someone else to buy it for you.

  • Can I personalise the gift and wrap it myself?
    • For safety, we are asking you to provide us with unwrapped gifts - we will then be able to check each item before delivering them.
    • For security reasons all names are anonymised.  Please don't personalise the gifts - the 'Bert' who will be receiving it won't be called Bert!

  • Why are we doing this?
    • Both the Parish and our Mothers' Union have supported Staffordshire Women's Aid for many years now.  This year we thought it would be nice to do something 'personal' - and so the gift tree was born.

  • Who are we buying gifts for?
    • There are likely to be about 19 children and teenagers and 15-20 women in the refuge over the Christmas period.  We hope to buy at least one present for every resident - child or adult - and perhaps have some left over for emergency admissions.

  • Where can I buy a One4All gift card?
    • These gift cards have been specially requested by SWA.  You can purchase them from Post Offices.
