Prayers this week for our Parish and the wider world
For the World… Praise God for the EcoVeg project in India that is being delivered through the Christian Aid partner Sustainable Agriculture Alliance (SAAL). Give thanks for how this organic way
of farming is improving people’s lives. As well as providing healthier food, it also protects the soil and farmers from harmful diseases and chemicals.
For the Church … pray for Christians in India, who are largely from rural areas and are often poor and face discrimination because of their faith, particularly in the area of job opportunities. Give thanks to God for the example of people like Kirti (whose name has been changed), a young widow whose husband was killed for his Christian faith and who herself was seriously injured in the attack, making it difficult for her to work – ask what we can learn from them, and pray that God will protect and keep them safe.
For our Community… give thanks for those who help our public transportation systems work – for bus, train and taxi drivers, road and rail maintenance workers, roadside assistance, and so many others. Ask that they are kept safe while working on our roads and railway lines.
For those who suffer in body, mind or spirit: Brenda, Valerie, Lisa, Angela, John, Mia, Pauline, David, Kathryn, Joanna, Diana, Norman.
….for the recently departed:
Cynthia White, Lily Jones, Roy Simpson
+ May they rest in peace and rise in glory
