MU

The Mothers’ Union is an organisation of over 3.6 million women and men living in 77 countries who believe in the importance of families.  As well as encouraging and supporting families and marriage, members work to reach out as God’s family to those who are isolated, in trouble, or in need of help.

Through fellowship, programmes, policy and prayer, Mothers’ Union members around the world change lives and bring Christ’s hope.

Berkswich Mothers’ Union meet in Walton Church, Kitlings Lane, Walton-on-the Hill, on the last Wednesday in the month at 2.00 pm.  Meetings are lively and friendly and always include a time for fellowship. Want to know more?  Come along and meet us  - our programme for 2008 is shown below:

Communion Service with Carols

Following on from our very successful afternoon tea in August, we have been able to donate £164 to the Mothers’ Union Relief Fund and spend an amazing £161 on items of underwear and socks for the Stafford Women’s Refuge.  The photograph shows some of our members holding up a few of the items purchased.  Thank you to everyone who gave their support for both of these very worthwhile causes.

Our next meeting will be on the 29 October when Beryl Metcalf, our Archdeaconry Vice-President, will be giving a talk on the “Commercialisation of Childhood”.   We would like to welcome new members to the group.  If you are interested in joining us please drop-in – you will be given a warm welcome.

The next Mothers’ Union Communion Service will be on Thursday, 6th November, at 10.30 am at St. Thomas’ Church, Walton.
